Bags are the easiest category to judge before your parcel ships: zippers, webbing and stitching density all show up in QC photos. These are the ones that hold up.
China manufactures for most of the world's technical bag brands, and the unbranded equivalents come off the same lines with the same hardware. That makes bags one of the highest-confidence purchases on any marketplace, because the things that determine whether a bag survives five years are all physically visible: the zipper, the webbing, the buckle, the stitch density and the bar tacks at the stress points. Unlike a garment, none of it is hidden inside a fabric hand-feel you cannot assess from a photograph.
Start with the zipper, because it is what fails first and it is the cheapest thing for a factory to downgrade. YKK is the reliable name and the listing will say so if it is used, usually with a size: #5 for a main compartment, #3 for pockets. SBS is the main domestic alternative and is decent at the mid tier. An unbranded coil zipper on a bag you plan to open twice a day is a false economy. In the QC photos, look for a puller that sits flush and teeth that mesh without a visible step.
Then look at the fabric denier, which the good listings publish. 210D and 420D nylon are light and fine for a daypack. 500D and 1000D Cordura is what you want on anything that will get dragged through a luggage hold. Waxed canvas is usually quoted in ounces; 14oz to 18oz is the useful range. Higher denier is not automatically better; it is heavier, and shipping weight is what you pay for, so match it to what the bag is actually for.
The last thing is stitching. Count the stitches in a run of an inch in the QC close-ups: seven to nine is normal, and anything looser is a bag that will open along a seam. Check the bar tacks (the dense zigzag reinforcement) where shoulder straps meet the body, because that is where load concentrates. Every pick below has been through the community's photo evidence on exactly these points.
Ordered on quality score, review depth and link health. Every entry says why it is here, including when the reason is simply that it is the cheapest thing on the list that still holds up.

Estimates. Totals are estimates calculated by Lantern from each agent's published fee structure and our own per-region freight table. Actual charges depend on final weight, dimensions, declared value, route and customs. Always confirm in the agent's own cart before paying.
Capacity is where people most often get it wrong. A 20L daypack carries a laptop, a jumper and a lunch. 30L is a proper commuter or a weekend bag. Anything above 40L is luggage and needs a hip belt to be comfortable when loaded. Listings quote litres, and the good ones also give internal dimensions in centimetres; check those against the laptop you actually own rather than trusting a "fits 15 inch" claim.
On freight: an empty 30L pack weighs 700g to 1,100g and packs down poorly, so volumetric weight often decides the cost. Ask your agent to compress and vacuum-bag it, which on a soft pack can cut chargeable weight by a third. Hard-shell luggage is generally not worth shipping by air at all: the volumetric charge exceeds what the case costs.
One honest caveat: water resistance claims are the least reliable thing in this category. A DWR coating on the outer fabric is not the same as a taped-seam waterproof construction, and almost nothing at this price point has the latter. Assume anything described as water resistant will keep a drizzle out and will not survive an hour of rain with a laptop inside.
The things people email the guide desk about, answered without the marketing gloss.
Ask your purchasing agent for detailed QC photos of the zipper pullers, the seam stitching and the strap attachment points. Look for a branded zipper such as YKK or SBS, seven to nine stitches per inch, and dense bar-tack reinforcement where the straps meet the body. These three things predict durability better than anything in the listing copy.
210D to 420D nylon is fine for a light daypack. 500D or 1000D Cordura is what you want for a bag that will be treated roughly or checked as luggage. Waxed canvas is quoted in ounces, with 14oz to 18oz being the practical range. Heavier fabric costs more in shipping weight, so match it to the actual use.
Typically ¥60 to ¥130 to Western Europe or North America. Bags are usually billed on volumetric rather than actual weight because they are bulky and light, so asking your agent to compress and vacuum-bag a soft pack can cut the chargeable weight by around a third.
Treat them with scepticism. Most bags in this price range have a DWR coating on the outer fabric, which sheds light rain, rather than the taped seams and waterproof zippers that make a bag genuinely waterproof. If you carry electronics, add a dry bag or a rain cover rather than relying on the listing.
Check the internal sleeve dimensions in centimetres against your specific machine rather than trusting a stated inch size, because screen size does not determine chassis size. The better listings publish internal length, width and depth; if a listing does not, ask the seller before ordering.
Same job, not quite the same evidence: usually thinner review counts rather than worse products. Several of these will qualify next time the list rebuilds.

Desk, storage, lighting, layers and stationery. A full dorm setup from Chinese marketplaces lands around ¥900-1,300 including freight, if you order it as one parcel.
Thirty-six pieces across streetwear and the wider wardrobe: what to buy first, what to read in a measurement table, and what a full parcel really costs to land.
Fabric weight decides everything in this category. Thirty pieces from 220gsm tees to 480gsm loopback hoodies, ranked on what buyers kept rather than what the listing claimed.
Thirty things worth ordering for less than the price of lunch, and the cheapest way to find out whether your purchasing agent is any good before you trust it with a real order.
